Persik-Minangkabau FC Merger

Kediri - Persik Kediri FC merged with the Minangkabau, one of the Premier League club Indonesia (LPI). Persik management do to qualify for the legality of the existence of a recognized Perseoran PSSI Limited.

It was announced by Chairman who is also Mayor Persik Kediri, Samsul Asr, after attending a plenary session at the Parliament Building Kediri, on Thursday (08/18/2011).

"Yes, we did the merger with FC Minangkabau. Because, without the merger we can not meet the requirements of legality. Because, Perseoran Limited (PT) which is recognized by the PSSI is owned Minangkabau FC,​​" said Samsul.


Merger agreement between Persik and Minangkabau been signed by Samsul. After the merger, the board of directors will continue to be dominated by Peaches.

"Thus, it takes five aspects are ready. Starting from supporting, legal, financial and personnel are met. We're just waiting for the results of verification PSSI and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)," he said.

With the efforts of the merger, Persik Kediri step towards the level of professional football is getting closer. Even Tim "White Tiger" has signed a cooperation form Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the consortium and receive financial support amounting to Rp 18 billion.

"Yesterday we have agreed with the consortium. Our cooperation in the form of shares divided by 70 percent of the consortium. The remaining 30 percent is us," added Samsul.
