Hilton Sriwijaya officially became a player after signing a contract on Thursday (08/25/2011) afternoon. The signing of the contract performed at the Hotel Swarna Dwipa, Jalan Tasik, Palembang.
Previously, Srivijaya was aiming Alberto Goncalves "Beto" da Costa. But, the deal is not reached and Beto eventually chose to return to his old club, View events.
"But he (Hilton-ed) is not a substitute for Beto, because early on we wanted to take him as a player and Hilton also showed its seriousness," explained Technical Director and HR PT Sriwijaya Optimistic Mandiri (SOM), Hendri Zainudin.
Found after contract signature, Hilton said he was happy to be joining with Laskar Wong Kito. When asked how the value of the contract, Hilton said a clear contract value is greater than he was when at Arsenal. "Also, other facilities," he explained.
